The tour in pictures

  • Day 1 : Arrival in Paro. On the way to Thimphu we'll stop at the temple for a welcome ceremony with the monks.
  • This afternoon, visit the TashichhoDzonz, the office of the King before continuing to the Mothitang Taksin reserve, housing few species of animals that can be found in Bhutan
  • The second day, we'll be spend discovering the capital city of Thimphu. After visiting The National Library, the Art school and the Institute of traditional medicine
  • We'll continue in the afternoon to one of the city temple, where the kids will have to possibility to meet and discuss with monks of their own age, before casting their own mini stupa.
  • On the third day, we'll go deeper into the country by reaching the warm valley of Punakha. We'll stop on the way for refreshment at the Dochu La Pass. You'll be given the opportunity to visit the nearby Botanical Garden
  • Upon reaching Punakha, we'll take a short hike across the valley to reach the Chimi Lhakand, the temple of the divine mad man, sure to raise eyebrows and questions among the little ones before continuing to a farm house where we'll join the local for a traditional butter tea
  • The morning of the fourth day, start with a short hike to the Khamsum Yuelley temple, before heading off the 1 hour butterfly trail
  • After a picnic in the countryside, hop on the raft and the enjoy the slow pace of the Moo Chhu River. Awe at the view as you reach the Punakha Dzong
  • This morning we'll head back to Thimphu. Upon reaching the capital city, we'll head to the post office where the family photographed and your own stamp is being created. You can now send postcards with your own stamp !
  • This afternoon, we'll go to the Buddha Dordenma. Under the watchful eye of the statue, ascent up the Buddha point trail, through the nature park. A rapid descent along the northern side of the mountains rounds out the 5-km hike back to the starting point.
  • on the sixth day, we'll take a short drive to reach the quaint city of Haa. After a visit of the Dzong, we'll enjoy a picnic by the river.
  • This afternoon, we'll check in the farm house where you'll spend the night. While at the farm, you can spend time with animals, learn to cook traditional Bhutanese food, visit the farmland or play darts and archery.
  • To start the seventh day, We'll take the road to Paro. Once we reach the Chele La pass, you'll hope and bike and wheel down to the city of Paro.
  • In Paro we'll visit the Ta dzong, the watchtower now converted into the National Museum. In the late afternoon, you'll print your own prayer flags in a traditional manner.
  • on the eighth day, we'll climb the 2 hours trail to the iconic Tiger's Nest. While hiking, don't forget to hang your colorful prayer flags.
  • the afternoon will be at leisure. In the evening, we'll organize a private cultural show for the family
  • Wake up early on your last morning, and enjoy a stroll around Paro city. On the way to the airport, we'll make a short stop where each member will plant a tree in an effort to reduce the carbon footprint of your trip to Bhutan
